Default vacuum cleaner to pick up lots of thread on carpet

I need a vacuum recommendation. I have a sewing business in my home, and we have went through 3 vacuum cleaners in less than 2 years. I need one that can pick up thread off the carpet, and it also needs to do stairs.

the problem that I am running into with our current vac is that the thread gets wrapped around the beater brush. i clean it out periodically, which *should* solve the problem, however it somehow gets thread wrapped around the ends where it spins. the thread then melts, hardens, and then melts again the next time the vac is used. it overheats the motor and smells terrible. The beater brush then needs to be replaced. we have replaced it 4 times, at about $40 each...it's not worth it anymore.

(it is a kenmore, very highly rated by consumer reports. my in laws have the same vac and they are happy with it..I guess I would be too if I didn't have so many problems with it)

You need to find a local independent vacuum store to help you solve this problem. By going to a vacuum professional you will get the best vacuum for your individual needs. A Sebo model G1 upright would be a vacuum you might want to look at. Good luck with your search.

the sebo g1 is a good option. has the same power, and performance of the x4 series for much less. the g series uprights have a manual height adjustment though, the x series uprights have computer controlled brush adjustment. also, the automatic x1 costs less than the g series, if you are interested. but, sebo vacuums have lifetime belts standard, which are guaranteed to last the life of the machine. i have a sebo and love it. hope this helps you.
