I read some bad reviews but they seem so cool - what do you think?

It does NOT work! I thought it was pretty cool, too, and then I bought one and it does not work. You have to sweep so slow for it to pick up the dirt that it takes you ten times as long as if you just sweep it up yourself!

I don't think you can ever have enough crummy little junk products around the house. If you want to clean right drag that vacuum cleaner out of the closet. You can pretend it weighs a million pounds like they do in the commercials for those stupid little brooms. But lets face it there's nothing like a clean house. Honestly it doesn't take that much longer to do it right.
